The rail and tube station has remained closed since 2009, but with work almost complete, parts of the station are now reopening.
The first new trains with 12 carriages are expected to call at the main rail station next month. These larger trains will run during peak hours, meaning an extra 2,000 seats are available for commuters during rush hour. This will make travel from our Blackfriars / St Pauls Apartments even easier.
Thames Link are advising that there will still be on-going work once the station has been opened however. They will continue to work on lift access, footpath improvements and the tube station.
Blackfriars will be the first tube station to span the river, with new entrances on South bank and North bank to give easy access to the Tate Modern and the National Theatre.

The tube is expected to reopen in Spring of 2012, restoring links with the District and Circle lines. The new tube station will boast step free access, a larger ticket hall and wider platforms.
