With less than 200 days to go till the Olympic Opening Ceremony in July, the Capital's preparations continue to push ahead to ensure that everything is in place by the time the Games arrive.
Earlier this month the London 2012 Organising committee announced the next stages in the planning schedule to transform the newly built Olympic Park into a fully operational sporting venue. Before the games begin officially, several test events will be held to ensure that the venue stands up to scrutiny. Further preparation will involve the construction of 100,000 square feet of retail space to be used throughout the Games, and branding the entire Olympic Park to match the "look and feel" of the Olympic campaign.
World renowned artist Monica Bonvicini has created a giant sculpture depicting nine metre tall letters spelling out the word "RUN". Each letter weighs ten tonnes and features mirrored panels and LED lighting, providing one of the main attractions within the Olympic Park.
With the date of the games fast approaching, accommodation across London is beginning to fill up as people plan their breaks over the summer to attend the Olympic events. Deep Blue Apartments have accommodation across the Capital, all of which offer an excellent base from which to enjoy the games. London serviced apartments offer you the flexibility and privacy of having your own living and cooking space, as well as a place to lay your head between enjoying the celebrations!
